The Town of Oregon is pleased to announce Pellitteri Waste Systems will provide curbside weekly garbage and every other week recycling collection to all households in the town. The service will begin July 2023.
The 2023 cost is $13.65 per month and will be billed annually as a special charge on the property tax bill. For example, the December 2023 property tax bill will include the charges from July to December 2023. All households will see this special charge. Agricultural operations, businesses and multifamily housing (4+units) must complete a Commercial Exemption Application (available at clerk’s office) with proof of satisfactory arrangements with their own waste and recycling disposal services by April 27, 2023.
The town signed a 10-year contract with fee schedule shown below.

If you currently have curbside service, with a company other than Pellitteri Waste Systems please contact your provider to cancel service. If you have Pellitteri Waste Systems for curbside service currently, they will be sending you more information about the change soon. Waste Management is requesting residents leave carts at end of driveway on either Friday, June 30 or July 7 for pickup after last collection. If you currently use any other methods to dispose of garbage and recycling that will no longer be necessary.
The Town of Oregon Recycling Center (TORC) will not duplicate household waste and recycling services after July 1, 2023. The TORC will continue to accept brush. See town website for additional services. Pellitteri offers large item pickup and additional carts for fee; see Pellitteri website.
Pellitteri will mail a cart selection form in spring and provide date of cart delivery. The cost will be the same regardless of cart size selected. Sample carts are available to view at town hall. A Welcome Packet will be attached to recycling carts during delivery that includes information on cart placement, collection calendar, recycling information, instructions for bulky items and appliance pickup.
