Dane County Broadband Task Force: The Dane County Broadband Task Force has been meeting since summer and is working on recommendations to improve broadband access in Dane County.   In order for communities to receive grants to expand and improve broadband access, accurate maps showing internet speeds are required. We need better data to show the need in rural areas.   Please complete this speed test and share it widely to contribute to this effort.  It’s easy and takes only a minute or so. The speed test link below is from the Madison Region Economic Partnership. They are also working to improve broadband infrastructure and identify areas that are underserved and will share the data with the Dane County Task Force. Visit http://madisonregion.org/industry-and-innovation/broadband/ to complete the speed test. Additional information can be found here https://board.countyofdane.com/initiatives/Broadband-Task-Force Thank you in advance for participating!

 Lottery Credits

To qualify for a lottery credit you must have owned your home and it must have been your primary residence as of January 1, 2021.  If your home was newly built and completed after January 1, 2021, your tax bill does not qualify a lottery credit in 2021.  Forms can be found by clicking here.  For more information regarding the Lottery Credit please see the Department of Revenue website.

First Dollar Credit

Every taxable parcel in the State of Wisconsin qualifies for the First Dollar Credit provided that parcel contains real property improvement.  This includes business, commercial and private property.  Unlike the Lottery and Gaming Credit, the property does NOT need to be the primary residence of the owner.  This credit should be automatically applied to all qualifying properties.  For more information regarding the First Dollar Credit please see the Department of Revenue website.
